Change of Ownership

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation

To all of our dearest patients,

Thank you for being a previous, current, or future patient of Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation! For over 30 years our mission has always been to help people heal and maximize recovery. And for over 30 years we have been successful in that mission thanks to you, our patients, and all of the continued support. So, from everyone here at Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, we say thank you!

Kathy Braun founded this practice in 1987 and has been the owner since then. Last year, she began planning to reduce and ultimately discontinue her administrative tasks included in running Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. She reviewed many different options, among them was to transfer the ownership to one of the therapists who was currently working at Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, Lucia Lee DPT, OCS, COMT. She approached Lucia with the opportunity to be the next owner of Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Lucia was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and grew up in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a BS in Kinesiology in 2014 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016. After graduating, she began working at an outpatient physical therapy clinic in Arlington, VA, dedicating herself to improving her skills as a physical therapist. She obtained additional certifications as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2019. She began working at Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation later that year, choosing to work here due to the excellent reputation centered around personalized patient care.

Lucia is passionate about her profession and readily shows her love of working as a physical therapist. Her goal is to be able to provide the best patient care and is dedicated to giving her fellow physical therapists the resources to feel empowered to provide quality care while keeping a good work-life balance. Lucia continues to highly value the personalized patient care provided by Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. She is motivated to continue the legacy of Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Earlier this year, Kathy successfully transitioned ownership of Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation to Lucia.

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation will not change its location of 34 years and will continue to maintain the same principles that have kept this company able to serve our patients. We value your continued support for Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation as we begin this new chapter!

Best,

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation
